Whats left to do ....

Well who knew I'd be side tracked and then halfway to finishing the project be stopped by an old grumpy cowboy....So I had just watched the tractor put a little more fir shavings into the truck...When old man cowboy came out growling at me and another guy...." that's all you get, no more..." I plead with him and he grunted "Come back next week...My 200 head have to bed down on the rest of that" he proceeded to tell me that I could drive by a see if he had a new delivery and then get more. So there are 3 out of 7 that we still need...so when Bruno comes home he will see the half job and I will feel ashamed for not completing it....And then I will have to explain why I need to do this....

Anyway I am looking forward to seeing hubby...He'll pull in sometime late tonight and then I will tempt him with food that he is never able to resist....Then he'll watch television and snuggle up to me and the bunny and we will all fall asleep right then and there...

So what is left to do? The dishes, the floors. clean sheets, a last minute sparkle to the bathroom and a good wax on the kitchen table. I had spent the rainy day cleaning the molding and all the door frames...as well as taking the vac to the underside of everything and over the books as well as the back of the 5x8 carpet..Bruno likes thing clean and I try my level best...at this stage of our life I'm better at getting it clean then ever before ( there still is a little clutter)...The reality is that I only know two people who keep there house cleaner then me....My mother (you could eat off of ANY surface in that house) and Ang...Everything is almost always in strict order....(that's a good thing) I'm sure I know more but have not been to there homes..

I had called hubby at a little after six this morning....HE WAS SOUND TO SLEEP!!! I then just called again and he had fallen asleep again....LATE! and so now he will be flying and disorganized in his hurry...I told you all he had hit the zombie state and this just proves that one needs a break of some sort...This is bad...hubby hates this and will be a little grumpy for most of the day...So the photo is of the dam Bruno lives at...but he gets to visit home in a few hours....

Well now I have tons to do still and have to get it all done and just right in less then 12 hours...hope you are all doing wonderfully well....P.S. I spent the day trying to make people laugh or smile...Making up for the growling I did in the last week....hope to hear from you all soon....and to the lurkers out there...could you just comment with a little "hello" ?

Two Days

But who would count...oh..okay so I have not been in the same room as hubby in a very long time..okay maybe it has not been that long, but with all that has been going on it seems like a long time. Flash and I worked on some things that I hope will put a smile on Brunos face...like the mass of wet leaves that settled along the gates. I picked up all the trash that the local pigs toss out their windows along the two streets that our fences run along. I managed to collect a whole #50 empty feed bag full... I like keeping the empty bags cuz I can put really heavy trash in it and even wet stuff can be put into them...

Anyway there is so much to do around here. I have all the stuff ready to make some cookies and maybe even a batch of brownies. Oh and did I ever have a yummy dinner at Liz's last night...Steak, bakers, veggies and threee cheese bread..of course I covered everything with butter....all but the steak...We spoke of doing a cookbook for Hope for Horses as a fund raiser...

It is starting to rain ( not new here) but I was hoping that it would stop while hubby was in town. It also keeps me from doing some of the outdoor chores, not all but a few.

Well kids I have a very busy day ahead of me...chiro and a meeting as well as a lot of cleaning. I suppose that I may just end up washing cloths at mom & dad's as well. I have two pairs of pants covered with mud that I'll try to knock off most of it before I hual it over to their place. Be dry and be well...

How cute is too cute?

As if I needed......

Well I was thinking that if I really needed sleep it would come...Right? NO! This theory only works for a) others b) those on strong sleeping pills c) after drinking oneself into passing out...well there it is no sleep, back still twisted into knots and the migraine that appears to be associated with said knots...I wonder if that is what is meant by "knot head?" okay my feeble attempt at humour while in pain. I have forgone anything that would adjust this i.e. pills , pain relievers or liquor. Does coffee help? I'm my case it does, it keeps me from hiding the bodies and I have found that it controls my tongue lashes a bit. Although it did not stop me from writing a letter to Poke explaining to reason he would not be employed for the summer... A bit brutal the truth hurts and the fact is his mother and I spoke of what constitutes character...one must be called on it at that age in order to turn the curve to a direction one can and should be proud of. So there it sits stamped and addressed. I have given the whole thing a great deal of thought and the puter would suddenly terminate on the first 7 drafts...the last one was able to be saved and printed....

Rain has not helped in the trench and replace mud with some large gravel as it sinks right through the mud...thus not resting on the top as had been the plan...I now have decided that I might just get quickcrete toss a few bags on the whole thing and see what happens...I have a float that will work out fine...a few Ziploc bags over the caps and all will be well, right?

Bruno has been a walking zombie for some days now and has repeated he is looking forward to coming home...at least he hopes to get rest...

Okay kids have a good day...stay warm and safe.

Mud Bath

Well I'm sure that someplace in Hollywood that this is a normal thing, but here there is no charge, no snowy white bathrobe and the only derobing going on is the moment you peel off your very muddy cloths to get into the shower..No part of this is relaxing, I assure you of this. Flash and I dug up some stuff and it started to pour and we continued till we both were covered with mud and soaking wet. We managed to get somethings done...The puddles put a screeching holt to the hole madness..And we gave in to stopping...for the moment. Anyway the trench was working until so much water came down , thus revealing the holes were the dirt had not been packed down...I took one step and the rubber cow boots sank to a few inches below the tops...So now the whole mess will have to be dug up and filled in correctly. ( I had explained to Poke how to fill it in and NOT to leave any air pockets.) So now if it ever dries up enough it will be redone...

Well today will be hopefully the last day of work before construction plans begin. I'm hoping for smooth sailing from this point on...Maybe Bondo could send a photo of a sail boat my way for good luck. I had the pleasure of collecting 7 eggs last night...we only have 5 hens so I'm trying to figure out how 5 hens lay 7 eggs a day for the last 5 days...usally there are just the 5 eggs...can anyone explain this?

Jonas and I had a good snuggle last night while he fell to sleep on me..I was in bed at 8:45 last night as the 2 day migraine was getting the better of me... It is warm here last nights low was 45 degrees... A wide open window..no new midnight visitors.

Hubby comes home Saturday!

Well I finally get to see hubby again!...We were married three years ago on Valintines Day...I know he will be working on this day but we will have an early celebration...here are a few photos of our day....We wed on the mom and dads deck...

Getter Done!!!

The facts are I try to get too much done when I know hubby is coming home...He is particular and is a harda*#...And not much is up to snuff on a regular basis. I try but NO ONE could be that perfect...It is a laughable challenge for me...And I have learned that it would be impossible to even come close. Although I found myself looking rather like my hubby when I put the closet maid organizer together...All the parts lined up, all the tools lined up and a clean surface to work on. I had it done in no time and installed....screwed to the wall as well....Anyway I am going to figure out how I can get the carport a little more cleaned up...and the house has already been scrubbed. So today after the two boys ( hired hands) get outta school I'll put them to work...I've now named them " Flash and Poke ) I am giving Poke a chance to keep up and work as hard as Flash...you know a little competition is great motivation..Anyway I really have no hope for Poke ....

I know that spring is around the corner and that I might have a few days that I'll be able to get into the barn and toss out/donate what is no longer needed or wanted. In the mean time I'm planning on getting the garden shed back together and then finish up the taxes all but for two numbers which I await. You know there is always a hold up of some sort....

Last night the fog was thick, so much I could not see the barn less then 50 feet from the opened bedroom window.. I heard voices, girls hollering and laughing it hit me that they where near the barn or in it... I laid there for a few minutes to hear what they were talking about...up to no good!!!So I yelled out the window "you girls have one minute to get off this farm just long enough for me to get my boots and my gun, get the hell outta here" I cocked the gun in the window and then I heard them cuss, and then scurry off. I never did bother to get outta bed...I figure they will not return....

Well kids it is off to the chores, and maybe a few more sips of coffee..Keep warm, be well and have an easy day....BTW Queen Mother : Can you show a photo of the corner rose bush? It sounds wonderful!

Sunday...and two four letter words

WORK!

Yes mud and digging and a really bad hardware shopping trip...

Okay so I get the kid started on digging..I was very clear about how and what to do. So I left thinking he would be close to done by the time I returned. Little did I know that I would be gone so long...I figured I would get a call saying he was done, but I never did..When I got back he was not even close to done...nor had he followed directions. I was pretty anode about not following instructions. So I had to show him what to do ....He poked around for the work was too hard....I thinking I am 3X your age and I am working you under the table...What should have taken less then 4 hours took a whopping 7!!!!

I had gotten all the parts put together after having to take the chop saw to the 5 foot sections as the ..."brainless one" at the hardware store hacked the 3 inch PVC instead of sawing it...thus the ends flared and did not fit into the tees... I had gone to Lowes to find the drain/trench and was floored that each 3 foot section would cost $45...EACH!!!! The job would cast over $300.00 so I decided I would make my own...2 ten foot sections of 3 inch pvc pipe 4 tees and 4 three inch drain caps and one end cap at a cost of $65.00 ...hook it all together bury it level with the driveway and slope it two inches away from the house and toda ...finished...I stated to sales person what I wanted and was told that I could not do this or that....I informed brainless man " I did NOT ASK you what to do I TOLD YOU WHAT I WAS BUYING!!!And frankly is it any ones business what I'm up to? There is nothing worst then having some idiot guy tell me what to do....First off I have a husband and a dad who have more knowledge between them both then ANYONE at Lowes will EVER have...Second I spent 5 years installing 16 inch water mains all over the state of Hawaii...I can and do take on jobs that I KNOW I CAN DO...if not I ask for help or hire someone to do it...That being said I lowered my control and barked at the guy " I know what I'm doing just point me to the parts I have requested....and leave me the hell alone...." I felt bad after I did it but I still spoke to the manager about the " talking down to me as if I had NO CLUE what to do"..... I told him I was floored when I had to explain I needed this and was told it would not work...HUH? You mean to tell me the engineers, my dad and my husband are all wrong? Gee funny that I trust at least two of these men with my life yet??????????UGH!!!!So last night it poured and guess what ??? It works and works well, no water came into the car port nor did it stand on the walkway......much better than I had hoped. I did not glue the caps down so you can pull them off and clean out the line with a hose if junk gets in there or I drop a screw or something in it.......gee Lowes really has a lot to learn...And could they hire someone who will not talk down to a girl??? And the kid? Nope, he wont last....

Tossing

And turning ALL night. I had gotten to bed around 9:30 last night was up no less then 5 times. Thought I heard water at 11 went down stairs and did a check...watched tv...heard water again..Thanks to national geographic for " I shouldn't be alive" some guy drowning!!!So I headed back to my bed, woke again at 2....dreams of all the sinks dripping...I tried to open the window and heard the rain hitting the house...AUGH!!!!so here I am dry and drinking my java..Knowing that I will for life be plagued with water issues...( at least that is what history is indicating ) Who could blame me for this?

I got tons done around here..My folks had stopped by...I showed them around the deconstruction zone and then they took my laundry..I waiting for Steve the plumber and worked on my hole...They asked if they could take me to supper at the new Chinese place in town...I still had the water turned off but said I'd meet them at 6pm...Dinner was fabulous...And I had stopped and got a dozen roses for my mom as a little thank you for doing my wash...How cool is that? Who else but your folks do something like that?

Okay I hope you all have a good day and all is well and great with you all...I did find time to read every ones blog..I just wasn't able to comment...XOXOXOOX
