Water Again

So just when I thought we would start repair the tub upstairs decided I just did not have enough water troubles..The bitter cold seems to have burst yet another pipe and I sit here awaiting the return of Steve the plumber...I think the neighbors are going to think I'm having affair with him as his truck is in the driveway more often then Brunos. Ironic huh? Well the bucket in the now empty laundry room is catching the remains of water after I shut the water off..No shower, no laundry and I brushed my teeth in the kitchen sink last night. The house we had also had water issues ( twice) once I wake up dreaming of hearing water, it my friends was no dream..I woke up to the whole one story house with two inches of water everyplace. I spent hours pumping out the heating vents...then the hot water tank located in a bedroom decided I should come home to a flood. Frankly I'm beginning to wonder if I a was ever to have indoor plumbing...Okay so I slept, well kinda..and now I have java and waiting for Steve..Bruno is working and do you not think it is very funny he is on a dam, surrounded by water, millions of gallons of it??? So I'm trying to laugh about the whole thing...My statement to the person who said to my..."I'm sorry these things are happening to you"....I corrected them with...."no, they are NOT happening to me...they are just happening"...So my friends I love you all, wish you all well and sorry you did not hear from me yesterday..Like I say things happen in life and one is in it or out...I'm in and I'm well....

And so it is.....

Well it is cold....

It is quiet....

I've been up since 3:45 am....

I Know!

It is 4:30am way too early for this farm fairy to be outta bed....I have been fighting stuffy sinuses and upper chest cold of some sort...So I tossed and turned. Opened the window, closed the window blew my nose yadda, yadda and so I could no longer toss and woke to coffee waiting just for me...I was like the dog in that cartoon spinning on my paw in joy... I will give the coffee a chance to wipe the migraine that arrived sometime last night out of my head.I have not had luck with this but I always try it first.

I was able to get the kitchen back together and decided that I will have to put a shelf up in the closet that I put the brooms and such in. I need it to hold the bunny supplies as I have not been able to squeeze space out of the kitchen for his stuff.. He is getting more comfy and I crocheted a little bunny snugly bed for him. He is also learning to roll like a happy puppy would, it is hysterical to watch him race back and forth then without warning he will stop drop and roll...He also comes out and will just snuggle under my chin and the next thing I know he is sound to sleep, but the moment I stop petting him he wakes , licks my chin and then falls asleep again the moment I give him some loving snuggles. Can you see he has captured my heart? One could not resist him.... for he is so cute.

let there be paint

Well I started painting the kitchen at just before 5am and finished the second coat a few minutes before 5pm.The dark base coat gave a richer look to the light chocolate color. All the white wood work got a good scrub and the floors too had two coats of finish on them. and now the walls are deep drying with a space heater on them.Nothing is nothing as bad as paint sticking to the barely dry walls...So walls will remain free for a few days while they dry. I love the new washable flat paints nothing cold be worse than semi gloss..yucko!

Anyway the next room is the dinning room and living room. I do not like yellow or beige with yellow undertones....so they too have to go. I am waiting for the contractor to tell me when all the work will begin or when the sofa and all the upholstery will be sent out for cleaning. There are several Chinese carpets that have to be sent off for a good cleaning.

Anyway I have too to work on the taxes I took a break as I was dreaming of numbers...So they had to be put aside for a day or two. I plan on getting the info to our tax guy be mid Feb..No pressure this way.....or so I say.

The horses had a fun day, I let them out and they rolled in mud..Just like kids they just could not resist.

Dad did a half walk yesterday and is doing great.

Well you all have a great day and stay warm...hugs to you all..And yes I did read everyone yesterday...I was up at 3:30 am....I want sleep...just a few nights that I sleep more than 5 hours..

This is a mile or so from my folks place...I had stopped to see if the eagles were out hunting...But was delighted just for the view...

Oh so cold Monday

It is bitter cold I was out already to feed the horses ( really they are pigs) I lowered the amount of food to them as these naughty kids got into two #50 bags of alpaca feed...leaving just enough in the muck cart to let me know that they had a big party!!!I spent the next 24 hours watching them...All they did was look for MORE! I had thought I had put it up safe away from them, but they have feed radar that would put a search dog to shame. They looked at me with " well it is your fault, you KNEW we would get into trouble if you left this farm" and by God they did...So now I have to drive North to go get more feed...and then make sure I do not leave it for just a day before I put it up.

On another note, Bruno is in the real chill, single digits...He has decided that waking to a wife and living together is his new goal..I agree, as farm fairy tough as I am, I LIKE waking at 4 am and making breakfast and packing his lunch..I love having help if I need it. I love spoiling him with a fresh homemade supper...

I looked again at the 140 acre farm up near the Canadian boarder...I'm hoping it has all the bells and whistles Bruno wants or at least the possibility...So say your prayers for that job we have at least another week before he knows...The house is huge but it is all about the land first...I can see us happy as clams there...Are clams happy, how do we even know? Do you think they sing or have a jingle? Okay sorry just thinking out loud...By the way my hens laid twice yesterday..Is the normal does anyone know? I normally grab the eggs afternoon but yesterday i got them at 10 am and by 6pm last night there was another 5!!!I thought it was too cold to lay on a regular basis...and with no heated place it seems odd..

Bondo is having a great time with his son there and they photo of them shows it.. O just found out that one of the farm blogs I check it right around the corner from him..How cool is that? A small world indeed...

Okay so lets just say that we have a very good time...We had great seats and the music was great. I'm dragging my hiney as I was not home til after 1am...The 2 hour drive was ok..I'm greatful Ang's dad drove. And George was at his best! and here is my confession...All I could do was think Bruno should have been there too...I Bruno called from Ang's phone while George sang " check yes or no" and missed him more then I thought possible. Anyway my little head has a migraine as the fumes at the dome was pretty bad..So I'm off to go put some ice on my head and then clean up...I did something I do not do, went to sleep with makeup on...Okay the reality is I have put makeup on less then 5 times in the last year..but still I know the rules here don't I? Bruno had gone to some friends he has not seen in 6 years or so..I have not spoken to him this am, but am hoping he had a great time...Bondo was to have house guest...I.E. Micky so I'm hoping they too had a great time this weekend.
