Rain,Fog and Chilly

I awoke to the phone ringing at just before 6 am and my hubby saying wake up sunshine....I groggly said no no just fog....to which made hubby laugh...Fog so thick I could not see the barn clearly. Fog so thick that the water seemed suspended in air....the open window screen dripping, the damp air wreaks havic on the bones. Enough snivelling.

The week was filled with surprises...Went to get the 4runner the oil changed and some other services. Picked up Alpaca grain and then went to store for Bulugas chicken liver....A mere 1/2 mile from home I am followed home then pulled over by the local sherrif....My crime? well it seems that I have put at least 5 quarts of fresh oil all over the street...the majority of it ending up on outr driveway entry gate...I watch with confusion as it puddles about. The officer instructing me to turn off motor and I explaining I had just gotten the service a few hours ago. He saying that it could cause sever damage and that I should get it looked at right away. I called the place to which the services had been preformed and within 20 minutes three guys are investigating the oil spill that could call the EPA out to our little place. Steve the manager was repenting and saying they would take care of everything and any damage would be repaired....I called our mechanic the following morning and was told that the damage came to $600.00 + ( at least it was not the motor) thankfully! I should think that the repairs should be done in time to go visit my hubby at some point.

Had a paper pile that Office Depot would be proud of as I searched for deductions and proof of life...Long story involving sleepless nights and panic.. Both of which I have decided are over rated..I like my simple life..feed...cook..care...clean.... faith and friendship......and enjoying the peace and quiet of our ranch.

Bondo tattled on me to hubby about the hen and rooster...I having to explain that " they are house broken" to hubby, telling him that Thomas leaves me dead rodents and the chickens leave feathers at most....

The vet came by gave shots to horses and chiro to Buluga, tried to get blood from her and the vains kept collapsing and this farm fairy throwing up on her beloved dog.....I do not do needles or Buluga pain well.....anything else is fine just not that!

Hubby is staying up late reading blueprints and having in general good time...He informed me that this job at the dam is the best job he has had in the last three years....Gotta keep the guy happy, more work, more challenge the better...

I decided to go with bangs again after not having them for three years, saw mom and Liz and both liked the " banged up farm fairy"

I am trusting that if I stay home and go NO PLACE that I shall not run into any problems.....lol

Okay I am buckling down staying in and going to labor on the garden shed clean up.....after it warms up a bit in the mean time I'll be doing house work and getting ready yo go through a few more boxes get the rest of them out of our way and marked for barn sale round#2 and then donate what is left over....Hope you all stay warm and that you will be dry....No such thing for New York....Sorry about all your snow so early...I know that there are several folks who read our little blog from the "bronx" according to the stats...
Okay New York be well!!! Stay safe and warm... Have a terrific day....

Lights. Siren ,oil and all banged up

No one was hurt!!!!! The banged up part is of my hair......I being good wife did as told get 4runner her oil change and a few services..Upon my return home I was escorted by a local sheriff who informed me to turn off auto and to get out to which I was greeted with a driveway full of the entire contents of oil change, a mess to say the least. I spent the remaining few hours making phone calls getting the place to come out and fix driveway as well as repair in part the small problem of oil on the driveway as well as no oil in the rig. I left the auto in the driveway until the following morning to which it was dropped off at K-Pro for a look and repair any damage.

Birds in the barn

I Know, bad farm fairy!!!!

So as you might guess, this fairy has been VERY BUSY!!! Two tons of feed into barn....A challenge as I had to make room for it all on my own ...No thanks to spurning my ankle. As well as getting all the pallets out of carport and into barn...Thank heavens for the John Deere....I too found a new bird, stuck inside barn. Handsome as could be. Rocky spent part of the day challenging Thomas! Rooster is taking his job very seriously these days and growing seemingly over night. We are thinking he will be very big.Learning to crow, which as a youngster is a crack up giggle each time I hear him. He has decided that he will crow at the front door to inform me he is joining the party inside. Aida is content to watch TV with Buluga..Who would ever guess that a hen and dog would watch TV together....I chase her out as if hubby sees this he will have a royal fit, and I suppose I should not encourage them to make this a habit. I anticipate hubby hearing of this via Bondo and all *&#* will break loose......

How I sprang my ankle? Well lets put it this way I'll never be invited to dance!!!Not a lick of grace or balance, can't sing either...Even the radio in the Miata stopped working as it could not take my singing while flying down the highway....Hubby never complains or cringes...He is so great that way. Back to how it happened...Well I was getting the feed off the pallets and fell through a weak spot...End of story..I tried to continue the job but swelling said ice ice ice.....I heard hubby and Ang going "oh you goon" so I spent the day with my friend ice and the taxes.

Taxes being the other reason for my inability to blog...I am half way done and the idea that there is more makes me nuts..This years taxes will be easier thanks to msn money!!!!
You have not idea the mounds of paper that one has acquired in the few years of life.. I spent the better of a day surrounded by papers from a newly found box....

My folks stopped by with mouse/rat bait and found me with eye patch over infected eye...( on going thing) and mom and I tasted a newly found over grown apple tree...Amazing taste considering the other two huge apple trees are only good for the live stock....Not fit for eating. I am hoping for enough time to fry up the apples and can them up, although that will require me to go get more jars. I have not even had time to read anyone's blog...Inkling, Bondo or Ang. Sorry I am going to do that today. Hubby is happily working 12 and 13 hours a day ..... His foremans job is keeping his brain and body the work out he drives for....I am planning to go down and see him before the pass is a challenge so I'll be off to visit him the last weekend in October....He might not be home for longer than we had thought. As long as he is happy...I figure he'll get home when he runs out of farm fairy food....

Well that is the update of Halleyville and your farm fairy....Hope all is well in your world. Fog greats me in the morning and burns off for a beautiful if not chilly day...Fall is slowly coming and winter will be around the corner in a short time....
