Halleyville Happenings

The fact that my hubby is sound to sleep in bed is news..He drove home after work Friday night..I awoke on the sofa with him watching TV & snuggled up with Buluga at 1am...

I spent part of the week making jewelry and finishing up special order. I tried to clean out the fridge as well as get the never ending pile of laundry done....I thought that if I wore the same cloths for several days and just did laundry that I would get it done in a matter of three days..How knows for sure am pretty certain that cloths fly off hangers and roll around just to spin in the water.

Anyway we had news that our friend from East Wenatchee had died last Friday after a long and hard struggle over the last year. We are all praying that Nancy will be okay and that her strong will will keep her going. The funeral services will be next Subday in order to make sure everyone can make it. Nancy is probly the strongest woman I have ever met. She will be able to run the horse ranch just fine, despite the broken heart she must have now... So please keep her in your prayers..

My mum's birthday yesterday was fun, just dad ,mum and myself having a quiet dinner at the local Mexican place... She LOOKS amazing and I do not think anyone could guess her age....She is proud to volunteer it if asked....As no one would think she was THAT OLD....She was raised in Upper Canada and had no electricity or inside running water, born a premmie and no hope of survival....As well as having had polio. And today she is looking fabulous...Her gardens are kept impeccably her art work continues to sell and the house is spotless....I MEAN REALLY SPOTLESS!!!!!!! When people tell me they do not have the energy to do daily things I wonder what they are doing verses what mum is doing....I can tell you she rarely eats junk food....She reads everyday and is always eating the right stuff.....I dare anyone to go to their freezer to see if there is a frozen dinner.....You wont find any such thing...She cooks from scratch no boxed trash food...

Okay what else....I plan on getting down stairs to the art studio on Monday and finishing that all up as well as unpacking several boxes here in the house..On Thursday I will pull down the doors in the bathroom and strip then and then decide on what to do with them..There are two over the shower that can not even open fully because of the light...If we were going to replace the shower and tub I would just knock them out as you can not put anything in them....

Hubby loves his new job at the dam and will be happy when they start the overtime. He looked happy when I finally woke up ...He is looking for reasonable quarters to stay in and that is proving harder than you can imagine..Little towns and few choices. One gas station and not much else...

Alright I have to go wake hubby up as if I let it get past 8 he will be aynoid that half the day is gone..Have a pleasant weekend...

Man at the Dam

Here is were he is now....Nice pics....Hope to get the links to the live cameras soon to you all....Me? Wet? Yes rain here and the Alpacas are looking rather pathetic....As are the horses....Chickens look the worst...Found them in the back part of the barn a few hours ago....Buluga refuses to go further then she has too...Cats are on the electric blanket snoring and I will be calling it an early night ...

Monday 4:30 AM

I awoke to racket some distance away...Hubby asleep on the sofa and his list dancing in his head. So many things to get done before he leaves tomorrow. Friends stopping by to say ggod bye to him, knowing he'll be gone for several months before most of us see he again....Me trying to get him set up with meds/scripts, tune ups and such. I canned several quarts of pears and 6 quarts of very hot salsa. I am then going to be running til dark getting the rest done..clean clothes and such. The geese have started flying over head warning of the fast approching winter. We are still making room in the barn for a few tons of feed....I should think I will Have time after this week to get it all cleaned out..Mice have to be delt with and then we will get it in there. Iwould think Charlie Girl ( wild cat and her baby) will be happy to stay there in the winter. I have yet to get to much else. The round pen is for the most part finished a few panels (5) have to be put up...I'm hopping the rain stops by day light. We'll see. Okay I will try to update you all very soon. Have a wonderful day...I hope Inkling is well and that it is not as wet and cold there as here.
