The extended absence of farm fairy.......

one fractured wrist...check
one broken foot....check
pneumonia.....check
return of Bruno...check
life run amuck...check
Hi everyone.......Life has decided to go at twice the speed of light and i have had no energy to keep up with it...Thankfully Bruno has taken two months off and we will be able to finish the house over the next 60 days...I have had a series of broken this or that and now have to try and keep up with Bruno. I did make it out to Arizona to work for 5 days and have not recovered from that whirl wind fly in fly out like a fairy....
Anyway I am fine, nothing to serious that would keep me from you all too long.
will up date you over the next week of life here....or something that resembles it...

our lives will slow down long enough to see time...

slow enough for a few calls to check on those that we love when we are thinking of them...
instead , this moment speeds by and i try to keep my brain from the things I want to do and focus on what has to be done....

And we ate so Much.....
Bruno came home!!!!
Why? Because my dad turned 69 yesterday!!!! How cool is that?
Bruno came home finally as the passes cleared enough to allow him to be here. I spent our anniversary alone and in a funk as the pneumonia still has got it's grip on me after the flu that knocked me on my butt three weeks ago. The most I have done is eat just enough to keep malnutrition away and feed the animals and take a few photos.
It is frozen here again and Bruno will be leaving and I will be on my own again. I have decided that this farm fairy as capable as she is prefers the company of her Bruno. Furry babies are fine but hubbies are devine! It is hard to beleive we have been married four years now......

Rooster Wrangling
The Farn Fairy way..........
Well now kids you know that if there is going to be hens there can ONLY be ONE Rooster. So the little roosters and the teenage rooster left to go south a few miles.
This old cowboy called and said he was picking up some hens north of us and he would swing by and get the roosters I had on craigslist. He pulled up in his truck and hopped out like he was 16 years old popped open the hard flat bed cover and there inside I see he has 4 racoon traps all stuffed full of hens.....carring on.....the other trap was empty and I knew that he was gonna stuff the babies and the Apollo in there.....
Getting them all gathered up with an old weathered cowboy ( about 100 years old) .....We got into the garden shed that has unofficially turned into the chicken coop and tried our rodeo tricks in a 9x12 foot shed.....Now you'd think that catchen four little roosters would be no problem but no.......the older hens are squacking the little hens are yelping and the baby Roosters are screachen like we are about to take their heads off....Apollo the teenager was having none of this and was fixing on landing on my head when old cowboy swoopt up and nabbed his feet with his left hand and tucked him under his right arm and scooping up another in a few seconds flat. He stuffed all of in that little cage just as if it was picking up eggs....
Now I had put the roosters on craigslist for a donation to hope for horses for at least 5.00.....That old man handed me a five and took all 5 roosters and said thanks.....I was a little shocked thinking he would be giving me at least 25 for all the birds and he said. "wall I cun give yah two of those hens who lay green eggs if ya like...." I said well I'll take a few more then that if you don't mind.....
So now I have a couple of extra layers .....12 babies and 4 full grown hens and the beloved Rocky....whom I think killed two babies last night as I had counted 14 babies in all but tonight there was just a dozen. Anyway the roosters are all gone and Rocky will start his gathering again after Apollo tried to take over the flock of babies.
I just could not stand to think one day I'd come out the back kitchen door and find those two going at to the death of one of them....So there you have it.....the babies should start laying in the next few monthes and I will be able to sell those eggs to the gal down the road. And still manage to have enough for us too.....

Daizy needs a playmate....
So we are looking at several adoption options with the German shepard rescue he in Washington ......these are a couple of the babies we are looking at...

Baby Rooster that will be rehomed
Teenage Rooster that has to go as he is trying to take over Rocky's job...May or may not be able to come home..The one pass is closed the other open as of this minut but the drive to it is over 3 hours and then another 2 to get home.....on a good day but the snow is coming down hard up to a foot today...pray that he comes home and that I get to visit him for and extra day that I had not counted on.
Anyway the baby bunnies are getting to the zip zip stage and I will go to the barn after it warms up and get the puppy cage thing and set it up in the living room for a little play yard for them. I should go to the senior center and get a blanket to lay down so they do not destroy the new rug we have. Romeo (one of the twin rabbits ) is busy shreading the pillow case hammocks i put in the cages...The new ones that are sold in pet stores are 18 dollars each and are in tatters in a month or two.....So i go buy old pillow cases and make my own...Buck of course ( orange baby kitten) is growing like a weed and is the torture unit of the bunny world. he lays ontop of Romeos cage with his paws shoved down to try and wack at Romeo when giving the chance..Romeo takes the play for only so long and then nails Buck with a nip....then they both sniff at each other and proceed to sleep.....
We have the only male bunny to give birth as Bruno nor mayself can come to terms the he is a she so will remain a he....ah Halleyville
The news tells us now that West bound at Stevens is now closed.......woe is me......
I have capured a rather bad phto of the ducks that have found home here....
